Life Update
Feb. 25th, 2025 03:38 pmSo I ended up getting laid off because the company I was working for was going through an audit from the IRS. Thankfully they were kind enough to give me a severance check that just went through today and my family can finish paying off the truck so we can focus on the house next.
I'm trying my best to look at the bright side. I'll be honest, I was missing being a stay at home mom. Office work in accounting was super stressful and it seems the audit made things tense around the office. I keep in touch with my old coworker and she's still doing good. I'll miss many people at that company and I think the whole year of experience in office work will help me find another job.
For now I think I'll be filling out applications for unemployment and looking for part time work. But now I can actually spend time writing. And not just fanfiction. I gotta say that Deadlock has really given me a lot inspiration for my own original work. It started as an OC fanfiction idea but I think it's gotten so out of hand and won't fit in canon, that it can be it's own thing. Maybe I'll post some of it here.
I'm approaching writing as my side "job" where I try to spend more time on my slow ass laptop so I'm not tempted to play Deadlock or other things. Just me and my writing. Maybe I'll go to the old ass cabin this weekend with my son. Be out in the sticks without internet will get the gears in my brain turning.
AH and Mechvibes is a great application I'm using. Something about hearing clicky sounds makes me feel like I'm actually doing something. And motivates me to keep going so I hear those satisfying sounds.
